Florent to play 150th career game

Oliver Florent is set to appear in his 150th game this weekend when Sydney take on GWS at the SCG. The achievement comes after he reached another impressive milestone in Round 7 - playing his 100th consecutive match.

The defender was recruited to the club with pick 11 of the 2016 AFL Draft and made his debut in Round 1 of the 2017 season. He will be the club’s 73rd player all-time to reach 150 games.

Rampe a test

After sustaining a hamstring strain in Round 3 Dane Rampe will be a test to play this weekend against the Giants.

Luke Parker is a chance to play after he was sidelined due to an arm injury in the pre-season. He starred in the VFL last week and finished the match with 34 disposals.

Longmire: "It's a great thing for the code in NSW."

Senior coach John Longmire appeared in a press conference on Tuesday, April 30 and answered questions from the media ahead of the derby. Speaking on GWS, the leader says he has the utmost respect for what is expected to be a dangerous side.

“I’ve been focussed on Toby Green, Stephen Coniglio and Sam Taylor coming back into the team," Longmire said.

"That's where my energy have been directed because this is a team that last week defeated last year's grand finalists by nine goals and had those three guys out."

Chad Warner joined the Giants in a joint press conference on Wednesday and echoed the sentiment.

"Footy in New South Wales in general has gotten so much bigger since I've been here and it's so great to see," the midfielder reflected.

"I think the crowd we're going to have this weekend shows exactly how big it's going to be and yeah, I love the rivalry with those boys as well."
