QBE Swans Academy players in the 2024 Allies L-R: Lauren Bull, Imogen Brown, Ellie Veerhuis, Ella Parker, Coach Tanya Hetherington, Taylor Smith, Maddie Quinn, Taya White, Em Juneja and Amelia Martin.

The QBE Sydney Swans Academy will enjoy a strong presence in this years girls U18 Allies squad with nine athletes named in the squad for 2024.

Imogen Brown, Lauren Bull, Emma Juneja, Amelia Martin, Ella Parker, Maddie Quinn, Taylor Smith, Ellie Veerhuis and Taya White are set to feature in the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships, which will be played from late June through to August.

In addition, QBE Sydney Swans Academy and AFLW coach Tanya Hetherington has been selected as head coach of the squad.

The Allies squad gathered at Sydney Swans HQ on Friday ahead of their championship opener against Vic Metro at Blacktown on Saturday morning with the squad made up of players from NSW (QBE Swans Academy and GWS Academy), TAS (Tasmanian Devils) and the NT Academy.

Hetherington said it was exciting for the club to have a large portion of representation.

"It's fantastic to see so many Swans be rewarded for their individual seasons, as well as a great reflection of the Academy program in setting the athletes up for success," Hetherington told Sydney Swans Media.

"It's a huge honour to be at the helm of so many talented athletes and I cant wait to see them bring their individual strengths and work together as a competitive team on the field."
