Sydney Swans stars Tom Papley, Justin McInerney, Isaac Heeney and Tom McCartin will make their welcome returns for our blockbuster Qualifying Final against GWS.

Papley (ankle) and McInerney (knee) will feature in the red and white for the first time since Round 18 and 19 respectively, while Heeney and McCartin will bolster the side after they were rested for our Round 24 match against Adelaide.

Aaron Francis, Robbie Fox, Caiden Cleary and Taylor Adams come out of the side.

Swans coach John Longmire says the contingent will bring a wealth of confidence as the club look to earn a Preliminary Final berth.

"Papley and McInerney have done a lot of work since they have been injured, and they are two quality players so good to have them back in and ready to go," Longmire said.

Sydney Swans v GWS GIANTS

Finals Week 1

SCG, Sydney • NSW

The Swans finished the regular season as Minor Premiers for the first time since 2016, and just the 10th time in club history.

Their previous two games against GWS saw the Swans record dominant victories in Round 8 and 15 respectively.

While Longmire is proud of what the Swans have achieved in 2024, he insists his side will have to deliver their best against an in-form GWS outfit.

"They are a quality team who have talent everywhere and are in great form," he said.

"They play a really aggressive style of footy and one that stands up in big games.

"It's going to be a tough - every game against GWS is a tough one, so we're looking forward to this week."
