The Sydney Swans will have a decision to make ahead of their trip to Perth with injured duo Tom Papley and Gary Rohan set to be available for selection.
Both players will come off the long-term injury list this week making them available for selection should the match committee deem they are fit to play.
Coach John Longmire said it was a decision that would be weighed up throughout the week.
“It is just a matter of whether they have done enough training,” Longmire said.
“They trained this week but is that enough for them to play?
“They may not have done enough for next Thursday night particularly if you play one or two of them over in Perth on a big deck, we need to be mindful of that.”
Kurt Tippett seems the most likely of the injury group to return against the Eagles after missing Friday night’s clash with an ankle injury.
Isaac Heeney will resume full training with the playing group this week as he continues his recovery from a bout of glandular fever.
Jarrad McVeigh, Heeney, Papley and Rohan form a group that are set to return to the field over the course of the next couple of weeks.
“The aim was always to be as competitive as we possibly could be for that first month and that is still our aim,” Longmire said.
“We have another week to go in that first month and we need to be as competitive as we can to see how we go.”
