The Sydney Swans have made one change ahead of Friday night's blockbuster against Hawthorn, bringing back speedy forward Will Hayward.
After missing two weeks of footy with a sore foot, Hayward has strung together two games at the lower level, the second of which ultimately rubber stamped his senior recall at the expense of midfielder Dan Robinson (omitted).
The 18-year-old's efforts against NT Thunder in Saturday's curtain-raiser may have been headlined by his game-high six goals but it was the first-year's work rate which really caught the eye of senior coach John Longmire.
"(Robinson's) been doing a pretty good job for us as well, his performances have been solid, but we thought Will's form last week, both defensively and offensively, was outstanding," Longmire said in Centrum Team Selection.
"He's a talented young player so we're hoping, both sides of the ball, he can really give us something."
Hayward has managed 13 goals from his 12 games this season to be among the bevy of youngsters to impress at senior level this season and help support the Sydney Swans' resurgence.
They've won seven-straight, and 10 of their past 11 matches, to sit sixth on the ladder just outside the top four.
Standing in their way is a talented Hawthorn side capable of anything with five rounds remaining in the season.
Of the past five clashes, Hawks have won three including the last at the SCG in Round 10 earlier this season, the Swans last defeat.
The Swans' last triumphed over Alastair Clarkson's men came in Round 9 at the MCG last year. Dan Hannebery (33 disposals), Lance Franklin and Gary Rohan (three goals each) leading their side to a 14-point win in front of 61,552 fans.
Robinson, Jordan Foote and Aliir Aliir have been named as emergencies.
