After four years with the Sydney Swans, midfield coach Josh Francou is departing the Club.
Francou, who joined the Swans at the end of 2013 after a successful stint as head coach of North Adelaide in the SANFL, is departing for family reasons.
An All-Australian who played 156 games with Port Adelaide, Francou commenced at Sydney as a development coach before taking over as midfield and stoppages coach.
Sydney Swans Head of Football Tom Harley has thanked Francou for his contribution.
“Josh has been a wonderful person to have at our football club and we hold him in very high regard,” Harley said.
“His wealth of knowledge and experience has been immensely valuable to our playing group, so on behalf of everyone at the Swans I would like to thank Josh for his service and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Sydney Swans assistant coach Brett Kirk will move from the role of forwards coach to take over the midfield and stoppages role.
As announced last week, Steve Johnson will be joining Sydney and will coach the forwards, while Rhyce Shaw has been promoted to an assistant coach, in charge of the backline.
Tadhg Kennelly will join recently retired Swan Jeremy Laidler as a development coach.
