The Sydney Swans Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Marion Skilton, beloved wife of Bloods Legend Bob, following her passing on Tuesday, aged 82.
Marion was somewhat of the Swans ‘First Lady’, following her marriage to Bob in February 1960.
She was a constant at Bob’s side, regularly attending matches during his playing days with South Melbourne, and accompanying him to all manner of Swans functions over the years.
Sydney Swans Chairman Andrew Pridham said the club was mourning the loss a much-loved member of the Swans family.
“Marion has been a significant part of our Club for more than 60 years,” he said.
“In a 2014 interview with Mike Sheahan, Bob spoke glowingly of Marion’s strength and her support for him during the toughest of times.
“Our thoughts are with Bob, their sons Brett and Michael and grandchildren Rebecca and Jack during this time,” Pridham said.
The Club will share an extended tribute to Marion in the comings days.
