It's an exciting time for the QBE Sydney Swans Academy with the rescheduled Open Assessment trials happening shortly.
Talent from across the Swans Academy Zone are invited to attend the trials for selection in the 2022 program.
The assessment trials will involve a range of AFL skills, athletic tests and activities, with each player receiving an individual feedback report following the assessment.
The club will ensure that the event adheres to the relevant Covid-19 safety guidelines at the time of the assessment trials. If you or your child feel unwell, or have come into contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19, please DO NOT attend.
The Youth Boys Trials, held every year since 2011 for players aged 9 to 12, are the main selection pathway for young footballers to join the QBE Sydney Swans Academy. The program has seen players such as Issac Heeney, Callum Mills, Nick Blakey, Errol Gulden, Sam Wicks, Braeden Campbell, Sam Naismith and James Bell go on to play senior football for the Swans.
Trials for female players have been held for the past four years and young girls now have a Sydney Swans AFLW team to aspire to be part of with the club joining the AFLW competition from season 2022/23.
Players selected at the trials will enter the QBE Sydney Swans Academy in 2022. Further details and FAQ are located in the links below.
