Earlier this week, Sydney Swans forward Lance Franklin visited the annual Auskick Christmas party, spending the afternoon with the junior participants and showing his support for the program.

NAB AFL Auskick is a specialised introduction for kids into the world of Australian Football.

Auskickers run, jump, kick, laugh, express themselves and create their own special moments that just happens to be footy. 

Franklin said the program was special and important to introducing everyone, no matter if they know the game or not, or their ability, to the game he loves.

“Auskick is a special thing no doubt,” Franklin said.

“Every AFL player that still plays to this day started as Auskick so it provides such a great opportunity for the young kids to come out and have fun.

“That’s the most important thing, getting outdoors, having a kick with your friends and just having fun.

“My kids are into a few sports, there is no doubt about that. My little girl is into soccer already but there is no doubt my boy will be loving footy too,” Franklin added.

“But the most important thing for our family is to be outdoors, be active and live a healthy lifestyle.”
