Return to the SCG (Round 2 v Geelong)
By the time our first home game at the SCG swings around, it will have been 287 days since we were able to welcome our Swans members and fans into the stands.
What better way to mark the occasion than with a Friday night blockbuster against Geelong – a clash that already has our mouths watering, and one that will no doubt yield a packed house full of red and white.
Last time we faced the Cats, Tom Papley’s fourth quarter heroics sealed a two-point Swans victory. What can we expect in 2022?
11 home games at the SCG, including Marn Grook at the SCG
11 opportunities to see the team in action at home this season. What more could you want?
Games against Essendon, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs and more set the tone for a blockbuster season at the SCG.
In line with the club’s formal request to the AFL, our fixture also includes the annual, marquee Marn Grook at the SCG celebration against Richmond in Round 11.
Pencil that into your calendars because it’s an occasion you don’t want to miss.
A back-to-back-to-back run of games against Brisbane, Gold Coast and Essendon will also be a highlight for true footy fans.
Sydney Derby (Round 1 [away], Round 20 [home])
There is nothing better than a clash against our cross town rivals.
We are set for two huge Sydney Derby clashes in 2022, including our season opener at Accor Stadium, before we host GWS at the SCG in Round 20.
The two rivals have not gone head-to-head at Accor Stadium in over six years, with their last meeting drawing a record crowd of 60,222 for the 2016 Qualifying Final.
It was also the meeting point for the first ever Sydney Derby in 2012, which coincidentally was also in Round 1. The Swans victorious on that occasion by 63 points.
With the Covid-impacted 2020 and 2021 seasons forcing games to be played in empty stadiums and rarely in Sydney, the upcoming Derby will be huge.
Special member arrangements for the season opener will be communicated as soon as possible.
Six matches in Victoria (4 x Marvel Stadium, 2 x MCG)
Swans Members in Victoria can look forward to six matches in 2022.
Four games at Marvel Stadium against Western Bulldogs, Carlton, North Melbourne and St Kilda along with two games at the MCG against Melbourne and Essendon provides plenty of opportunity to see the red and white in action.

Swans Heritage Week (Round 12 v Melbourne)
An important occasion on the club calendar and a great opportunity to celebrate South Melbourne’s rich history is Swans Heritage Week.
A series of celebrations and activity will take place in Melbourne and centre around our Round 12 match against the reigning premiers at the MCG.
Stay tuned to sydneyswans.com.au for more Heritage Week information in early 2022.
Good Friday (Round 5 v West Coast Eagles)
For the first time, the club will be involved in Good Friday football with a Round 5 away clash against West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium.
The fixture is the first of two trips west in 2022, with the second coming against Fremantle in Round 18.
With a big Swans supporter base in Western Australia, we look forward to a solid showing of red and white at both games.
ANZAC Day (Round 6 v Hawthorn)
We travel to Tasmania in Round 6 for an ANZAC Day clash against Hawthorn.
Back to back trips on the road will see Sydney play on a Monday afternoon at University of Tasmania Stadium.
Sydney Swans members were in full force in the club’s visit to Launceston when the team played their nail-biting elimination final against GWS Giants last season and the club can’t wait to return for another mouth watering clash against our modern rival.
