Origin will support the Sydney Swans to transition to a cleaner energy future and help the club take action to reduce its carbon footprint, as part of a new two-year partnership announced today.

As the club’s Official Energy Partner, Origin will work with the Sydney Swans on a shared vision to decarbonise its operations over time, by exploring cleaner energy solutions at the Swans’ new state of the art headquarters at the Royal Hall of Industries.

Origin CEO Frank Calabria said, “Origin aims to lead the energy transition to net zero emissions, both through reducing emissions from our business, and by providing the solutions and services to help our customers to achieve their own climate commitments.

“Our partnership with the Sydney Swans, one of the nation’s most respected and professional sporting organisations, is consistent with our strategy and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to help them to reduce their carbon footprint.

“We will be working with the Swans to assess which clean energy solutions and technologies are best suited to their operations, including options such as onsite solar, renewable energy supply, smart energy solutions and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

“In addition to backing the club’s five green-star redevelopment project at the Royal Hall of Industries, we will also be working with the Swans to share with the club’s many members and supporters offers for a range of clean, smart and affordable energy solutions for their homes and businesses,” Mr Calabria said.

Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley said, “We’re thrilled to have Origin as part of our team in what is shaping as one of the most significant years in our club’s history with the establishment of our first women’s team and a new home at the Royal Hall of Industries.

“Our club prides itself on contributing positively as a community leader and one way we can do that is through putting sustainability at the forefront of our decision making. We’re really looking forward to working with Origin to reduce the carbon footprint of our operations.”

Under the agreement, Origin will become a Premier Partner of the Sydney Swans AFL and AFLW teams, as well as an Official Partner of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy.
