Anyone would forgive Rhyce Shaw for thinking coaching is a cruisy caper after romping to a 120-point win in last weekend's season opener.
Instead of resting on his laurels, however, Shaw has quickly re-shifted his focus ahead of a tough encounter against GWS on Saturday.
While the dominant defeat of Brisbane was one to savour for the new coach, Shaw is well aware of the difficult task ahead of his charges at Blacktown International Sportspark.
GWS defeated the Swans four times on the way to reaching a preliminary final last season.
Of the losses, one came in the form of a hefty defeat. While Shaw was not playing that afternoon, the result hammers home just how deep the Giants' depth runs and just how damaging an off day can be against the western foe.
Shaw said his players will need to bring their best to account for last year's minor premiers.
"They're a really strong side, it's going to be a ripping game so really looking forward to it," he said.
"They had a good win last weekend against Sydney Uni. They've got talent right across the board, that's the main thing. In the seniors they're really strong and that filters through.
"We've got to make sure we match their run and intensity. Hopefully we can catch them out with our own."
The clubs' squared off only three weeks ago in the last of two practice matches with the Swans taking away a 60-point win.
Both teams will be fielding similar line-ups.
Ben McGlynn played, but will be a notable absentee after the pressure forward was recalled to the senior side.
His call up means the NEAFL Swans' experience takes a hit but with 18 senior-listed Swans playing Shaw remains confident his absence can be covered.
"I'm really confident our guys can get the job done," Shaw said.
"It doesn't matter who plays and where we play, we make sure we put in our best performance."
Shaw was also looking forward to seeing 2015 draftee Sam Murray in action for the first time.
Originally scheduled for 12pm at Marrickville's Henson Park, the all-Sydney showdown was earlier this week moved to BISP and at the earlier time of 10.30am.
