It was a successful Round 2 of the Northern Academy Series for the Sydney Swans with both the Futures and Open teams recording victories over the Gold Coast Suns Academy teams in Brisbane on Sunday.

The Opens side edged the Suns by just a single goal in a hard-fought, high standard game. The Swans defenders held strong against a talented Suns forward line, and the midfield group lifted when the game was on the line. 

Meanwhile the Futures put together a strong team effort to win by 28 points. It was an arm wrestle early but the Swans managed to shift gears after half time and control the majority of the second half to record a comfortable victory.
