Lance Franklin is expected to be fit to tackle Richmond at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.
The star forward coped a heavy knock to his hip pointer during the opening quarter of the Round 22 win over North Melbourne before playing out the match.
General Manager of Football Tom Harley said Franklin would have to prove his fitness at training to line up.
“It looked a bit innocuous in a marking contest. He was a bit inhibited during the game but he has recovered ok,” Harley said.
“We fully expect him to be available come Saturday twilight, he will have his training program on Tuesday and Thursday but expect Lance to play.”
The Swans could also be bolstered by the return of co-captain Kieren Jack from an ankle injury.
Jack was sidelined for the win over North Melbourne after suffering the injury during the final training session last week at the SCG.
“We took a pretty conservative approach with Kieren because obviously we didn’t want to put him through the rigours of a game to make matters worse,” Harley said.
“He has the same plan that Lance has got, in terms of training on Tuesday and Thursday, but we expect him to play.”
Ruckman Callum Sinclair is still a couple of weeks away from a return to senior football as he recovers from minor surgery to his knee.
