Eight former Swans are set to pull on the boots once more in Friday night's EJ Whitten Legends Game.
The star-studded Victoria and Allies squads will again go-head-to-head, with some of the AFL’s most celebrated players set to play under lights at Etihad Stadium.
An astounding 36 AFL premiership players and 29 All Australian representatives will feature across the two squads, to be led by respective captains in Richmond's Matthew Richardson (Allies) and Brisbane's Jonathan Brown (Victoria).
Among the Allies team are former Sydney Swans Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Tadhg Kennelly and Troy Luff. Meanwhile, Barry Hall, Wayne Schwass, Paul Licuria, Daniel Bradshaw and Jude Bolton will don the 'Big V'.
Fans can expect one of the most entertaining games in the event’s history, as the E.J. Whitten Foundation continues to raise important funds for prostate cancer research and awareness.
The E.J. Whitten Foundation was founded in 1995 to honour the legacy of the late E.J. Whitten and his public battle with prostate cancer. Over the past 21 years, the E.J. Whitten Foundation has raised over $9.5 million and helped to bring men’s health to the forefront.
The EJ Whitten Legends Game has a history of bringing the AFL community together and in 2016 the players involved are some of the most celebrated the AFL has seen, with accolades including:
• 13,604 Games
