Swans co-captain Adam Goodes will face a test at tomorrow’s final training session to determine whether he will play against Geelong on Friday night.

According to Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron, Goodes, who has missed the last five Swans’ matches with a quad tear, has been making good progress for a return to the field.

“Adam Goodes was the only one last week that had to hang around and keep training (during the bye week),” Cameron said.

“He finished off his rehab training last week after sprinting and agility and all those sorts of things they need to do, before resuming training with the team.

“He started (training) a little on Saturday and did the session yesterday, and he’s got the session ahead tomorrow, and depending on that (it) determines whether or not he plays on Friday.”

Be sure to watch Swans co-captain Adam Goodes on Open Mike with Mike Sheahan from 8.30pm, Wednesday June 20 on Fox Footy.

Cameron added that injured midfielder Luke Parker, who suffered a broken collarbone in round 10 against the Western Bulldogs, is also on the road to recovery.

“Things are going really well,” he said.

“(Luke’s) had his stiches out and he’s out of the sling and he’s started running.”

“He’s (been out for) three weeks this weekend and should be resuming light training and skills duties next week.”

Young Swans Tom Mitchell and Jed Lamb are expected to make their return to the reserves over the coming two weeks.

Cameron said Mitchell, who was battling a knee complaint, should return to the field this Friday afternoon when the reserves clash with Sydney Uni.

“Both (Jed and Tom) have overuse-type injuries, running-type injuries,” he said.

“Jed’s shins will probably keep him out this week, whereas Tom should train tomorrow and be able to play on Friday.”
