The Sydney Swans VFL side have had a win on the road in Round 9, defeating Coburg by 31 points at Piranha Park in Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.The victory was set up by a brilliant first quarter from the Swans, kicking eight goals to three in the blistering display.Callum Sinclair and Sam Reid kicked two goals each in the first quarter but it was fellow tall Joel Amartey who lead the goal tally at the final siren, the young forward impressive with four goals. It was a day out for the talls with Hayden McLean and Lachlan McAndrew also kicking multiple goals alongside small forward Ben Ronke.

Midfielder Ryan Clarke was dominant across the ground, collecting 36 disposals and kicking a goal of his own in a best-on-ground performance.It was a consistent effort across the board from the Swans with plenty of contributors. Lewis Taylor (27 disposals and a goal), Dylan Stephens (27 disposals and a goal), Robbie Fox and Matt Roberts (25 disposals) and Ben Ronke 22 disposals and two goals all ensured the Swans took the points on Coburg’s home turf.The lively Will Collis also caught the eye of spectators with a superb goal which will no doubt contend for Goal of the Year.

The win has the Swans just outside the eight on 16 points and sets up a big game against Richmond (7th, 20 points) in Sydney next week.The match is a Friday afternoon fixture, ahead of Marn Grook at the SCG and will be played at Tramway Oval (opposite the SCG) with first bounce 2.05pm.
