The 30 Years in Sydney celebrations began early at the Swans headquarters this morning.
The Club was met with a lovely surprise on behalf of the SCG Trust and Delaware North, who presented the Swans with a 30th birthday cake.
Sydney Swans chief executive and senior coach John Longmire joined Delaware North General Manager Cameron McAlpine and the SCG Trust General Manager of Events & Operations Pat Wilson to cut the cake, which was enjoyed by Sydney Swans and SCG Trust staff.
The SCG has been home to the Swans since 1982, and today’s gesture indicated a strong future between the organisations.
The Swans will take on Melbourne Football Club at the SCG tomorrow, who were the first team the club hosted in Sydney 30 years ago in the Club’s inaugural year in the Harbour City.
