Midfielder James Rowbottom fronted the media today ahead of our Round 14 match against Port Adelaide.
The 21-year old will play just his fifth game at Adelaide Oval and spoke to media today about the challenge that awaits the Swans who come up against the 12th placed Power who have won five of their last seven matches.
Here's the key quotes from the press conference.
On the bye
Coming off the bye we had our mid-season review so we are focussing on a few little things to tweak. Overall the vibe at the club has been very positive and there's a lot of energy amongst the group.
About this week's tough road trip to Adelaide Oval
It's a hostile crowd over there, but it's a challenge we are looking forward to. Their midfield is really strong. They have the likes of Wine, Rozee, Butters and Drew that run through there so have plenty of depth that we will have to put a lot of work and effort into.
On Pete Ladhams, who will come up against his old side for the first time on Saturday.
He's a great fella, a really good character. His footy has been speaking for itself since he has come in he's had a big impact in the ruck and around the ground.
On his own season to date
Personally, I have had a relatively consistent year. I think our midfield group has been building strongly together with Chad Warner, Luke Parker, Callum Mills, Justin McInerney and Errol Gulden (on the wings) and I think we have got a good balance. We are still looking to build and improve on things each week together - we play our best footy when we are all working together.
On the Swans engine room being a young group
We have all played a fair amount of footy together now so age isn't really an excuse. The club and team trusts us to do that role each week and if we keep delivering we will keep going well together and I think we are doing alright at the moment.
