Sydney Swans co-captain Callum Mills remains the outright leader in the Carey Bunton Medal after Round 16.

The medal is awarded to the best NSW player in the AFL each season and is named in honour of NSW greats Wayne Carey (North Wagga) and Haydn Bunton (Albury Rovers/Albury/West Albury).

Carey is a dual premiership skipper who is rated by many as the best player of the modern era in the VFL/AFL, while Bunton is the most decorated player of all time with three Brownlow medals for Fitzroy in the VFL and three Sandover medals for Subiaco in the WAFL.

Geelong's Tom Hawkins was the only NSW player to poll votes in Round 16, after kicking six goals in the Cats' win over North Melbourne.
