After 22 years of service to the Sydney Swans, Andrew McMaster has officially retired from the Club’s Board.
McMaster notified the Swans of his decision to end his tenure ahead of Thursday’s Annual General Meeting.
First elected in 1995, McMaster has dedicated many years as deputy chairman on top of roles as chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee, Nominations Committee and Integrity Committee.
Chairman Andrew Pridham thanked McMaster for his invaluable service to the Swans.
“Andrew has made an outstanding contribution to the Club during some challenging times,” Pridham said in front of fellow committeemen and Swans members in attendance at the SCG.
McMaster’s departure paved the way for Sam Mostyn to be officially elected to the Board of Directors.
Mostyn was the first woman to join the AFL Commission back in 2005 where she served for 11 years and implemented the AFL’s Respect and Responsibility policies, Indigenous programs, as well as spearhead the development of the new AFL Women’s competition.
Mostyn has an extensive resume as an advisor, sitting on the board of the Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation (GO Foundation) as well as a non-executive director of Citigroup, Virgin Australia, Mirvac, CoverMore and Transurban.
Mostyn joins Alexandra Goodfellow as the second female member on the Sydney Swans Board.
Meanwhile, Greg Paramor and Rob Pascoe have been re-appointed unopposed.
“I would like to thank my fellow directors for their unwavering support and commitment to the club,” Pridham added.
“They all provide their time and expertise on a pro bono basis and play a significant role in the success of the Sydney Swans.”
