Round 23 – St Kilda v Sydney Swans
4:40pm - Sunday, August 21, 2022
Marvel Stadium
OUT: Braeden Campbell (medi-sub)
The Sydney Swans have named an unchanged line up for their upcoming Round 23 clash with St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, August 21.
The Sunday afternoon match will have a huge bearing on our placing heading into our 2022 Finals campaign.
"It's a really important game to keep working on what we know works and to really finish off the season strongly," Longmire said.
"It's a really good opportunity to get down to Melbourne and play the Saints on their home deck."
"We played the Saints a few weeks ago and their pressure over the last few weeks has been outstanding and they've really strong defensively so it will be a real test for us and we need to make sure we play the sort of footy we want to play."
Longmire says the focus remains on the entire squad contributing towards a strong victory.
"It's just about a weight of numbers with our team and making sure there are a number of contributors across the board and all playing a role at any point of the game.
"It's really important what has gotten us to this point so we really want to finish off on a really strong note."
"It would be great to have as many of the Sydney Swans South Melbourne supporters there as we can get. We are very fortunate as a footy club to be able to have support all over the country, but particularly our Melbourne supporter base who are really passionate so it would be great to see them turn out in numbers in their red and white." Longmire added.
Co-captain Luke Parker is set to play his 257th AFL game, surpassing Kieran Jack and Heath Grundy in outright eighth place for most VFL/AFL games played for the club and Justin McInerney will play his 50th AFL game.
Our match against St Kilda will be broadcast live nationally on Fox Footy and Kayo, and on 7mate in NSW and the ACT.
