Get the latest on the injury front with Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper, with an updates on Sam Reid and Justin McInerney.
General Overview
In the Preliminary Final against Collingwood, Sam Reid was subbed out of the game at half time. He had some tightness in his right adductor in the second quarter and we decided not to take any risks with him injuring it in the second half.
He has had some follow up imaging this week which was encouraging and he is progressing as expected.
Justin McInerney rolled his ankle in the fourth quarter but received strapping on the bench and returned to finish the game off without issues.
Lewis Melican
Lewis has commenced running and is building volume well. He has been able to increase his speed this week and will continue to progress towards a normal offseason training program.
Marc Sheather
Marc has commenced running on the AlterG treadmill this week. He will continue this progression for 2 weeks before progressing to overground running for his off season break.
Sam Wicks
Sam unfortunately sustained a low grade high-ankle sprain in a training session last week. He will spend a short period of time in a Camboot allowing the injury to heal.
