Sydney Swans co-captain Maddy Collier will make her Swans debut on Friday night at Punt Road as Sydney take on Hawthorn in Round 5.

The NSW product has been sidelined with ankle injury for the first four games of the season but will make her first appearance for the club she has barracked for her whole life on Friday when the Swans play their first 'home' game in Melbourne.

Prior to joining the Swans Collier played played 34 games with GWS and the West Coast Eagles.

"I am incredibly grateful to get the opportunity to run out with the girls and finally represent the Swans on the field," Collier said.

"I just want us to play our brand and make each other proud with our performance."

Collier is one of three big inclusions to the team for Grand Final Eve. Aimee Whelan (arm) and Cynthia Hamilton (concussion protocols) also return to the side with Sarah Ford (omitted), Aliesha Newman (ankle) and Jaide Anthony (omitted), coming out of the side that were defeated by Port Adelaide last week.

Friday's game between the two expansion sides is set to be a big one with both sides looking for their first win of the season.

The match will kick off at 5.10pm AEST on Friday and we are encouraging all Swans fans to get behind the team in what will be a big weekend for the club.
