The Sydney Swans have made three changes to their team for the final match of their inaugural season against Geelong on Saturday evening at GMHBA Stadium.
Young star Montana Ham will miss the fixture due to completing her Year 12 exams while Eliza Vale, Sarah Skinner and Genevieve Lawson Tavan are the inclusions for the match against the Cats.
Senior Assistant Coach Baker Denneman, who took on the role of Senior Coach with Scott Gowans unwell last week, said the final round fixture provides another opportunity for the team to progress.
"Geelong are a very good side and bring the heat in the contest and hopefully we can match it there and also try some things being the last game of the season," Denneman said.
One of the positives our of the Swans Round 9 fixture against Fremantle was the effort at the contested ball and that's something Denneman said the side will look to continue to do against the Cats.
"Contested ball was one we will try carry through this week, we need to be able to get the ball on the outside and move it quickly and hopefully we can stem the flow from the defensive 50."
The match rounds out the Swans inaugural season in the AFLW and the team has been overwhelmed by the support from members and fans in 2022.
"The support has been massive," Denneman said.
"Week-in, week-out the girls talk about the support they are getting and to have so many fans out there during the weekend makes it very special. Internally the girls have really felt the support and we look forward to carrying that into the last game and into next season."
The match gets underway at 5.10pm AEDT at GMHBA stadium and will be broadcast live on Fox Footy, Kayo Sports and 7Flix (NSW).
