Sydney Swans forward Lexi Hamilton has been awarded the AFLW Training and Education Excellence Award after her consistent on-field performances and sheer commitment to her studies in 2022.

Hamilton is currently studying a double degree in Paramedicine and Nursing at Australian Catholic University - traveling to and from Canberra to juggle training, playing and her studies.

She was able to produce some starring performances in her first season in the red and white, and such was her consistency that she played every game of the regular season (10) and averaged 7.5 disposals and 2.9 tackles per game

"I'm very proud to receive this award and I'm proud of myself for working hard at my training and studies during my first year at the club, but I definitely couldn't have done it without the support of the coaches and my team-mates," Hamilton said.

"They were so understanding and allowed me to commit to my studies while playing, so I just want to give a huge thank you to Scott (Gowans), Kate (Mahony), and every one at the club. I feel really privileged to be part of the Swans, and it was such an incredible season to be a part of."

The Education and Training Excellence Award has been given annually since 2001 to the player who displays the best all-round performance in balancing football with external education and training.
