Adam Goodes is happy to miss out on the festivities during the 2005 Premiership celebrations if it means taking centre stage in Friday night's clash against Richmond.

During the Round 13 clash at the SCG, the Swans will commemorate 10 years since the drought-breaking premiership of which Goodes played a starring role.

Goodes said he was not concerned with missing Friday night's celebrations.

"It shows that Friday is a really important night and '05 was a really important day," Goodes said.

Ben Mathews (Melbourne), Brett Kirk (Fremantle) and Ryan O'Keefe (Adelaide) will be in attendance having all been given the weekend off from their respective coaching roles at other clubs while Barry Hall, Leo Barry, Paul Williams and Luke Ablett will make the trip to Sydney for the special occasion.

A lap of honour will take place before the game, giving fans the opportunity to see and clap their heroes, which Goodes says is an "awesome tribute".

“Everyone wants to be here, they want to be a part of the celebrating," Goodes said. “If this is a sign of things to come for reunions, I just want to keep winning premierships."

Goodes will miss out on the festivities but at the end of the day, the dual Brownlow Medallist wouldn't want to be anywhere else and expects a few jokes thrown at him by his former teammates about still running around.

“It's nice to be still playing...we play Port Adelaide next Thursday so I can't join in too much. I'm sure there will be plenty more opportunities to do that in the future.”

Goodes is the only member of the '05 Premiership team still playing in the red and white but still feels the same as when he collected 20 disposals in the breakthrough win all those years ago.
