Sydney Swans staff and players have settled into our new home in the heart of Moore Park. Last week students from SEDA – an independent co-educational Year 11 & 12 school located in Sydney Olympic Park and Glebe – were welcomed into the space as they embark on a hands-on vocational HSC program in partnership with the club.
The morning began with an induction in the new auditorium before students were among the first people to be given a tour of the facility, including state-of-the-art offices, locker rooms and the gym. Following a lunch break, the experience ended on a high with AFLX on the indoor field.

There are currently 14 students in the SEDA AFL program with each looking to progress their education and training in the sports industry while they finish the HSC.
Senior students are required to do five hours of volunteering per term, which they typically complete in assisting match day activations during the Sydney Swans’ AFL and AFLW season. They can also take up work placement with the club when opportunities arise.
The Sydney Swans and SEDA first partnered in 2018. Students also work with AFL NSW to run Auskick sessions and receive certifications in coaching, sports management, business and first aid - contributing to a 10 and 12 unit curriculum.
