SYDNEY Swans coach John Longmire could only sit back and admire Travis Cloke's performance in Collingwood's nine-point victory in their clash at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.
But Longmire is hopeful he has his own power forward developing in a similar fashion in youngster Sam Reid.
Collingwood's Cloke proved the difference between the two sides, kicking 6.4 and taking eight marks - seven contested - to be the best player on the ground.
Reid went goalless and managed 11 possessions and five marks, but at just 19, the future is enormous for the young Swan.
"Reidy did some really good things and launched the ball and took some great marks," Longmire said after the match.
"What I'm really excited about is he's going to keep growing and developing.
"If you look at Travis Cloke who's 25 or 26 (Cloke is 24), he's a huge man.
"A real power forward like that, you'd love to see how Sam Reid develops in the next few years and I'm really confident he's going to develop into a big kid and have a big presence in our forward line."
The Swans were hamstrung before the game when Ted Richards was a late withdrawal with an ankle injury.
With Alex Johnson also out with a calf problem, the Swans were without two of their mainstays in defence.
It gave Longmire few options and Cloke was able to feast on Heath Grundy and Lewis Roberts-Thomson.
"He's a star Cloke. He's been around the system now for a few years and is probably at the peak of his powers," Longmire said.
"We lost Teddy Richards and Alex Johnson, two of our defenders that have been really good for us.
"He kicked six goals in the end and a big power forward makes a difference."
The Swans also lost Kieren Jack, who took a heavy knock at the start of the game and returned, only to then injure the same ankle that recently kept him out for five weeks.
"He's pretty sore," Longmire said of the Swans' reigning club champion.
"It's a similar thing to last time and hopefully not as bad.
"We lost him first centre bounce and I couldn't believe it and he's come back on and then gone again.
"I had a quick chat to the doctor and he think it's a similar injury, but not as bad.
"Other players had to stand up and I think they did."
