Sydney superstar Lance Franklin and his Giants counterpart Jeremy Cameron will go head to head in a Coleman Medal shootout at Spotless Stadium on Saturday night.

The 13th Sydney derby sees Franklin go into the match on top of the goalkicking table with 43 majors; with Cameron – and Essendon's Joe Daniher – two back on 41 for the season.

Franklin has been in strong form over the past few weeks, just like his team, and if he had been more accurate in front of the big sticks, would have an unassailable lead in the Coleman race.

The 30-year-old has averaged 17 possessions and seven marks in his past five games, but has booted 11.19 in those matches, including a haul of 0.6 against Essendon in the Swans' thrilling after-the-siren win in round 14.

Lance Franklin currently sits on top of the Coleman Medal table with 43 goals.

In that time Cameron's form has dropped off, and he's kicked just eight goals in his last five games, including a four-goal performance against the Brisbane Lions three weeks ago.

The marquee match-up between the gun forwards might be one to watch for fans and the media, but Franklin told the Swans' website that he had no interest in a personal battle with Cameron.

"I'm not even thinking about that really, all I'm thinking about is getting the win, that’s the most important thing," he said.

"It's going to be huge they've knocked us off the last three times so it will be a great game, we need to train really hard this week and come out prepared for a good contest.

"We'll need an even contribution from everyone across the field, that’s how we're going to win, by playing team football."
