Joel Amartey received a start in the top 22 on Sunday after impressing coach John Longmire with his Round 2 performance against Hawthorn. His clean grab of the ball continued against the Melbourne Demons and earned the young forward a nomination for Mark of the Year.

In the 10th minute of the third quarter, Amartey took a strong contested mark over the shoulders of teammate Errol Gulden.

Amartey joins Tom Papley and Nick Blakey who earned nominations for Mark of the Year in Round 2.
