Sydney Swans coach John Longmire has confirmed his side to face Richmond this Friday night at Adelaide Oval, with Corey Warner set to make his AFL debut.

INS: Matt Roberts, Corey Warner, Hayden McLean
OUTS: Dane Rampe (injured), Tom McCartin (injured), Paddy McCartin (injured), Franklin (injured)

Warner will join his brother, Chad, in donning the red and white at Gather Round having enjoyed a strong start to the VFL campaign and impressing throughout pre-season.

"We have a few missing from last week, so it's a great opportunity for some younger players to come into the team and show what they have got," Longmire said.

"It's a great opportunity for our younger group to keep moving forward."

Meanwhile Lance Franklin, Paddy McCartin, Tom McCartin, and Dane Rampe have been ruled out with injury, which sees Matt Roberts and Hayden McLean make a welcome return while Robbie Fox remains in the squad after he featured as a substitute in Round 4.

Rampe has experienced neck soreness following the Bloods heart-breaking defeat to Port Adelaide, with the Longmire opting to rest the co-captain.

"Unfortunately Dane Rampe didn't get up. He has a sore neck, a nerve in his neck that is giving him some trouble." Longmire said on Rampe.

"Matt Roberts is a young player who comes into the team and we are really looking forward to seeing what he has got," Longmire said of Roberts.

"He was terrific over the pre-season and he and Corey come in and can really put what they have been working on into practice in a senior game of footy."

The Swans will be looking to avenge back-to-back losses to Melbourne and Port Adelaide respectively, with Longmire expecting a hard contest against Richmond from the first bounce.

"We expect what we know from Richmond. They put enormous pressure on, they go forward and are a team that has played in a lot of Finals footy.

"They are a really hard team so we look forward to testing ourselves against a team that you know will be going really hard from the first bounce."
