SWANS Rising Star Dan Hannebery has returned to training and is fighting fit as he prepares for the 2011 season.
Hannebery lamented being under-prepared for the pre-season last year, but says he is feeling good as he embarks on only his second full pre-season.
“I’m definitely a lot happier with the nick I’ve come back in this year compared to last year, but having said that, it’s only the start and there is a long way to go for this pre-season,” he said.
“I’m feeling reasonably fit, I’m probably a couple of weeks behind with the running but so far so good, I’ve just got to stay injury free and keep ticking the sessions off,” he said.
Hannebery is confident an off-season operation has helped rid him of the shoulder problems that he carried throughout 2010.
“My shoulder is feeling really good now, it was unstable before I got it done and now it’s been tightened up.”
“It took a little while to get moving again, but it’s in full motion now and I’ll be concentrating on strengthening it up throughout the pre-season,” he said.
Though he emerged as one of the game’s brightest stars in 2010, a typically determined Hannebery says there is no shortage of work to be done in the pre-season.
“I’ll certainly be working on my decision making during the skills sessions, my strength and of course, like everyone during the pre-season, I’ll be aiming to be fitter and faster,” he said.
