Australian world music star and leading Sony Music recording artist, Mitch Tambo will headline this year's Marn Grook at the SCG, performing at half time on Friday night.

Hailed as “the new voice of our generation”, Tambo is one of Australia’s most unique and electrifying First Nations entertainers.

He has just this week released a brand-new high energy single, ‘Yugal Yulu-g’ which can be listened to here.

Tambo said he is looking forward to the opportunity to play at Marn Grook, one of the Swans’ biggest fixtures on the calendar.

"Performing at the Swans game this Friday night is a thrilling opportunity to unite through the power of music and sport," Tambo said.

"I can't wait to bring an electrifying energy to the stadium and create a memorable experience for the fans. Get ready to dance, cheer, and feel the spirit of unity soar!"

Electrifying on stage, Mitch has performed at Expo 2020 (Dubai), the Australian Commercial Radio Awards, Australian Open, Channel 9 Upfronts, Rugby World Cup and T20.. He has been nominated for two Golden Guitar Awards for his work on ‘Come Together’ alongside Lee Kernaghan and Isaiah Firebrace for Vocal Collaboration of the Year and Heritage Song of the Year.

Earlier this year, Mitch released a version of the anthemic Icehouse classic, ‘Great Southern Land’ featuring Reigan.  The track, first released in August 1982, still rings true today with its passionate message. With Mitch and Reigan singing in Gamilaraay and English, the song was given an emotive makeover for the current day’s landscape to rave reviews.

As well as Mitch Tambo’s performance there will be a special pre-game Welcome to Country on-field ceremony featuring the Gamay Dancers and TSI Dance Group. A run-down of Marn Grook activities on Friday night at the SCG is below.
