Swans reflect on SCG memories
Ahead of Sunday's game against North Melbourne at the SCG, a selection of Swans players reflect on their favourite memories of playing at the SCG...
It’s been the Sydney Swans home ground for 30 years and has housed many lasting memories.
From the Swans first home win in 1982 to the emotional final game of Swans legends Mick O’Loughlin, Leo Barry and Jared Crouch, the SCG has hosted some of the highs and lows of the Swans history.
To track down some of the grounds best ever moments, SwansTV spoke to the playing group about what they recalled as their greatest SCG memories.
For Kieren Jack, it’s the feeling of playing at home in front of a packed house.
“I think when the crowd gets going, it’s got a real aura the SCG.
“If it’s a packed house out there and the chant starts going up, it really echoes around the SCG.
“You hear the Sydney chant go up and it almost lifts you into another gear.”
But for Swans veteran Jude Bolton, he can’t go past Nick Davis’s unbelievable final quarter performance in the 2005 semi final over Geelong.
“The Nick Davis four goals against Geelong when we were down and out to put us through to the preliminary final would have to be up there,” he said.
