For the first time in 2023 John Longmire has made no changes to his side as we prepare for a clash with Essendon.

The team will be competing for a third consecutive win after strong performances over the Western Bulldogs and Fremantle in Round 18 and 19. Longmire credits synergy and consistency to Sydney's recent success.

"We've been trying to get that synergy amongst the team and the last couple of weeks we've started to do that," Longmire told Swans TV ahead of Round 20.

Despite the unchanged lineup, the senior coach is prepared to make adjustments when needed. "You never know what's around the corner," he added.

The last time the two sides met was in Round 16 of the 2022 season with the Bombers coming away with a narrow nine-point lead at the MCG.

With just five games left of the regular home and away season, another win will keep the Swans in touch with the top eight.

“Essendon have had a really good season this year and under a new coach," Longmire said of the opposition, "they’re playing a good brand of footy."

The message to his team? “We have to keep going about our business...jump out of the blocks and play four quarters of consistent footy."

Co-captain Callum Mills will celebrate his 150th game on the road after making his debut in 2016. His career to date has seen 11 wins from 16 games at Marvel Stadium.
