‘Perfect’ Goodes rewarded by coaches
Adam Goodes received the maximum amount of votes from the coaches in Friday night’s win over Collingwood
Goodes gathered 30 disposals, three clearances and kicked three goals in a best on ground display and was awarded the maximum votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award.
Dan Hannebery was voted as the next best player on the ground after picking up a game-high 31 touches and kicking two goals. Although he received six votes from the coaches, Hannebery dropped from second to third in the voting after Jobe Watson went past him after scoring 10 votes in Essendon’s win over Richmond.
Co-captain Kieren Jack received five votes for his job on Collingwood ball-magnet Dane Swan and remains firmly entrenched in the top-five of the award’s voting.
It was a clean sweep for the Swans in voting, with Ben McGlynn (four votes), Nick Malceski (three), Jarrad McVeigh (one) and Ryan O’Keefe (one) all sharing in the remaining votes.
