Saturday afternoon footy at the SCG

After three weeks on the road, we’re back at the SCG this week to take on the Gold Coast Suns. The VFL will play in a curtain raiser at 9:45am before the main event at 1:45pm.

It’s the second time Sydney and the Gold Coast have clashed this season, with the red and white looking for their fifth consecutive win. Head to the Swans HQ Bar for a pre-game drink and explore our Drive Ave activations ahead of the match.

50 games for McLean

Hayden McLean is set to play his 50th career game this weekend. The towering athlete made his AFL debut in Round 18 of the 2019 season but has enjoyed some of his strongest football in 2023.

In Round 21 against the GWS Giants last weekend McLean kicked four majors and helped the Swans secure a win over the cross-town rivals.

Match Day Partner: Sydney Swans Foundation

The Sydney Swans Foundation is this week’s Match Day Partner, and we ask you to support the cause in Round 22.

The Foundation was launched in 2005 to help invest in the future of the club. Thanks to the donation and bequests made by Sydney Swans supporters, the Foundation has assisted in developing the QBE Sydney Swans Academy and provide vital funding for the new Sydney Swans HQ.

John Longmire on Dane Rampe

Speaking in a press conference this week, senior coach John Longmire provided an update on Dane Rampe’s recovery. The veteran defender sustained a calf strain in Round 20 against Essendon.

“We don’t think (he’ll return) this week. We’ll see how he goes on Thursday,” Longmire told journalists.

“We’re conscious being a calf and being a bit older that we don’t put him through too many risks.”
