In summation...
At the start of the 2017 season Nic Newman had not played a game of AFL football and by the end of it he had cemented his spot in the senior side with 20 games to his name.
Newman has worked hard since being rookie listed by the Swans in 2015 to work his way onto the senior list before a debut game in Round 2 against the Western Bulldogs.
Showcased his ability throughout the season at being able to not only win his own football but then use the ball with precision esepcially by foot.
Set up plenty of attacks through the middle of the ground and pushed forward when required during the season evident by his seven goals during the year.
Newman's standout performance came against North Melbourne in Round 8 when he finished the match with 35 disposals and 11 marks.
At 24-years-old and with a strong first season of senior football under his belt the 2018 season has plenty of promise for Newman as he looks to become a permanent fixture for years to come.

With the Swans under plenty of pressure after a horror start to the season it was the depth in the squad that was required to stand up to get the win over North Melbourne and that is exactly what Newman did. He finished the match with a career high 35 disposals and 11 marks. He simply could do no wrong when going near the football with disposal effiency that most in the league would be proud to have.
