Sydney Swans coach Scott Gowans has confirmed just one change for our match against Geelong, with forward Alexia Hamilton making her return from injury.

Hamilton was unable to feature in our opening round win at North Sydney Oval which saw the Swans record an emphatic five-point victory over the GIANTS.

The 22-year-old will feature in a prominent forward line alongside the likes of Rebecca Privitelli, who kicked two goals in the Swans first AFLW win in club history.

Gowans said he is looking for a repeat of the team's resilience and intensity against a fancied Geelong outfit who recorded a 48-point win over Western Bulldogs in Round 1.

"I think our pressure and intensity at the contest was really good. That last few minutes of the game allowed us to really showcase that, and it's something we want to pride ourselves on and make part of our DNA," Gowans said.

"The other thing was the resilience - when they were challenged they were able to fight back. When your 25 points down, you need to get on the move and they did that really well.

Ally Morphett has also been named after her best-on-ground display that saw her earn a maiden Rising Star Nomination, while crafty small forward Aliesha Newman will play in her 50th AFLW game.

Gowans lauded Newman's durability and the profound impact she has had on the playing group since her arrival last year.

"I coached Newy at Collingwood when I was an assistant there and she is just so resilient. She is always been that player in her career that has moments in games," he said.

"You look at her and there is not much of her. She is very small but she is hard at the contest and her team-mates love her. That's the important thing - they look to her for a lift and that's the important thing.

"She is just a player that probably won't get 30-40 touches, but she will always be in the game and give you 10 (disposals) of really good stuff."

Gates opens at 12:00pm with first bounce scheduled for 1:05pm.
