The Sydney Swans are starting to fly after two wins at home. This week the team will travel to Melbourne where they'll come up against Carlton in a Friday afternoon contest. Assistant coach Tanya Hetherington previews the upcoming match and names her players to watch.

Congratulations on Sunday’s win over the West Coast Eagles. What impressed you about the team in Round 4?

I think the girls ability to win ugly. It wasn’t the best game from a skills or decision making point of view but we managed to apply scoreboard pressure and work through a third quarter dip to come out firing in the last. The way we finished the game was really pleasing.

Which players stood out to you?

Players like Bella Smith to move forward this week and have an instant impact, credit to her. She has a lovely left foot and used it to maximum efficiency for us this week. Sofia Hurley also had her most consistent performance this season and she'll keep building on that. It's exciting for her and the team going forward.

We played Carlton in a pre-season match. What did you make of their game, and do you expect this to change in Round 5?

I think the team we played in the practice match will be quite different to the team we will face this weekend. Personnel and ball movement wise, it should be a great contest.

What is the message to players?

To keep taking the lessons learnt from the season so far and implement them on the weekend. We are still looking for a four-quarter performance and this weekend in Melbourne will be a great place to achieve that!

Brooke Lochland is set to play her 50th game on Friday. What does she bring to the squad?

It is a fantastic achievement for Brooke as an inaugural AFLW player. Brooke brings great work rate and experience to this young team. She looks to play her role every week which is often sacrificial so hopefully she can get some reward for effort this week against the Blues and we can get the win to celebrate her this weekend.
