Former Sydney Swan Tadhg Kennelly is just two games from achieving his dream of winning an All-Ireland Gaelic football medal.
Tadhg returned to Ireland earlier this year in a bid to emulate his late father, former Gaelic football legend Tim Kennelly.
Overnight, Tadhg’s team County Kerry convincingly defeated Dublin in the All-Ireland quarter-final by 17 points.
The 2005 premiership player has struggled with a hand injury this season and started the match on the bench but entered the game in the 31st minute.
Kerry secured a massive winning margin of 1-24 to Dublin’s 1-7 and Tadhg contributed two points. (Scoring system is similar to AFL, the first number represents a goal which is three points and the second number represents a point.)
From here, Tadhg’s team will play a semi final against either Mayo or Meath, and Kerry will be favourites to book their place in the All-Ireland final following this dominant performance against Dublin.
