Round 17 v St Kilda
The Sydney Swans made amends for their round nine loss to St Kilda with a hard-fought 29-point win over the Saints at the SCG.
After trailing the St Kilda by 19-points at quarter time, the Swans piled on 14 goals to five for the remainder of the match to claim their sixth consecutive win.
The Swans kicked four goals in the final six minutes of the game to secure their 13th win of the season and hold on to top spot on the AFL table.
Josh Kennedy (35 possessions and a goal) was outstanding for the Swans, and accounted for Saints play maker Lenny Hayes, Ryan O’Keefe (25 touches) and Kieren Jack (21 disposals, two goals) were also among the Swans’ best.
The only downside for the Swans was a knee injury to ruckman Shane Mumford, who was subbed off the ground at half time after jarring his knee.
