Sydney Swans defender Ella Heads has been named as one of two AFLW Rising Star nominees for Round Five of the 2023 NAB AFLW Season.
The QBE Sydney Swans Academy product finished with 18 disposals, four intercepts, four intercepts, three score involvements, two tackles and 380 metres gained following the side's five-point defeat to Carlton at Ikon Park.
At the half-way point of the season, the 20-year-old is averaging 14 disposals, 4.1 intercept possessions, 306 metres gained and 64 AFLW Fantasy points per game.
The NSW product joined the Swans from the Inner West Magpies in AFL Sydney as an open-age signing.
Heads was a member of the Sydney Swans Academy in 2019 and 2020 and grew up a Swans supporter.
She made her debut in Round One of Season Seven and played all 10 games, finishing in the top five in the club best and fairest.
Heads becomes the second Sydney Swans player to receive a Rising Star nomination this season, joining teammate Ally Morphett who received her nomination in Round One.
Heads was named alongside West Coast Eagles' Lauren Wakfer have been named the AFLW Rising Star nominees for Round Five.
