The Sydney Swans are excited to announce that former Fremantle defender and Premiership player for the Western Bulldogs Joel Hamling has joined the club as an unrestricted free agent.
The 30-year old moves to the east coast after 68 games and seven seasons with the Dockers. Hamling also spent two seasons with the Western Bulldogs (2015 and 2016) where he played 23 games.
Sydney will be Hamling's fourth AFL club, after his football journey began in 2011, drafted to Geelong with pick 32.
Hamling is the second premiership player to join the Swans in the past week with former Melbourne player James Jordon also making the move to the harbour city in the free agency period.
Tomorrow, Monday October 9 marks the opening day of the 2023 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period. Stay tuned to sydneyswans.com.au and the club's social media channels for trade period content.
