Sydney Swans speedster Gary Rohan has put his name in the mix for senior selection after making a successful return from a broken hand in the NEAFL last Saturday.
The 27-year-old returned to face the Canberra Demons in the NEAFL the week prior but finished his day early after his hand copped a knock.
But Rohan got through Saturday’s NEAFL clash with GWS without an issue.
Head of Physiotherapy Matt Cameron says Rohan is making strong progress.
“Gary was able to train last week and played on the weekend with no problems,” Cameron said.
“He got through unscathed and is charging around and is ready to go.”
Defender Alex Johnson underwent a reconstruction on his right knee in Melbourne on Tuesday morning.
The 26-year-old ruptured his ACL in Sydney’s recent win over Melbourne.
Cameron said the medical team decided on an option Johnson had tried before.
“He’s gone with a reconstruction with some reinforcement in there, similar to what we actually did on the other side in his final operation,” Cameron said.
“We’ve tended to repeat that one a little with this one and we’re expecting things to go a little better this time around.
“We’ll have him back in Sydney and started on rehab pretty soon.”
