SYDNEY Swans champion Adam Goodes has issued a rallying call to his teammates to honour retiring trio Michael O'Loughlin, Leo Barry and Jared Crouch with a win over the Brisbane Lions next week.

Speaking after Sunday's 41-point loss to Collingwood that officially ended the Swans' finals hopes, Goodes didn't try to hide his disappointment at the performance.

"It was just really embarrassing to think that we had three players that were playing their last games at the MCG today and we couldn't send them off with a good effort like we've had in the last month," Goodes said.

"That's the most frustrating and disappointing thing. We've played some really good footy in the last month, and to turn that up today was just really embarrassing.

"We came down here full of confidence and we really wanted to attack Collingwood and really take it up to them. We were only eight points down late in the first half, and if our ball use had of been better, who knows what could have happened?

"That third quarter just killed us. They got on top of us and made us look like a really ordinary team."

Such is the esteem in which Barry, O'Loughlin and Crouch are held at the club, Goodes said the immediate response after such a loss was to "look them in the eyes and apologise".

Goodes put in another eye-catching display against the Pies sure to attract the attention of the umpires, but he said adding to his Brownlow Medal collection was the last thing on his mind.

"My last 10 weeks have just been about enjoying playing every game with 'Mickey O' up there and making sure I give him the best possible sending off that I can," he said.

"Now that 'Crouchie' and Leo have retired as well, I'm always just thinking in the back of my mind that these are the last couple of games I get to play with these blokes.

"I really want to enjoy it, and the only way you can really enjoy it is winning games of football and really trying hard.

"We've got another opportunity next week against the Lions on our home ground, and I really hope the blokes switch on and learn from what's happened today and give 110 per cent next week for four quarters.

"I know that's what I'll be aiming to do and I just hope that everyone else can do that for 'Mickey O', Leo and 'Crouchie'."
