The Sydney Swans have been defeated by Richmond by two goals in Round 2 VFL action at Punt Road on Easter Sunday.
The young Swans gave plenty of fight all afternoon but fell just short in an entertaining match which had plenty of ebbs and flows.
20-year old Jaiden Magor led the disposals for the Swans with 28 while former QBE Academy product and 2023 draftee Caiden Cleary also found plenty of the footy with 24 disposals and six tackles.
New recruit Taylor Adams, who was on managed time, had a successful return to competitive match-play after a preseason knee injury, racking up 18 disposals and a match-high 10 tackles.
The Swans were quick out of the blocks and had the perfect start to the game with a five goal first quarter as lively forward Phil Moi Moi kicked three first term goals to set up a handy lead at the first break.

The Tigers responded with vigour in the second term however and dominated all aspects of play to kick 5.5 to the Swans' 0.4.
Scoring evened up in the third term, the Tigers kicking three goals to the Swans two but still took a 16-point lead into the final quarter.
The Swans got within nine points in the final term and when Indhi Kirk kicked a long-range goal late the Swans kept fighting but the siren beat their endeavour and the Tigers claimed a 12-point win.
Sydney now have a bye next week before facing the reigning premiers, Gold Coast on Sunday April 21 at 9.05am at the SCG, which is a curtain-raiser for the AFL game.
