The Sydney Swans have locked in two promising young defenders, with Patrick Snell and Will Edwards extending their time in the red and white.
Snell will remain at the club for a further two years until at least the end of 2027, while Edwards extends for one year.
Taken at pick 53 in the 2023 AFL Draft, Snell arrived at the Swans from the Brisbane Lions Academy as a highly rated athlete.
QBE Sydney Swans Academy athlete Will Edwards was recruited as a Category B Rookie following the 2022 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
The 197cm defender regularly represented the Swans Academy and earned Allies selection in the process.
Edwards and Snell have enjoyed consistent seasons in the VFL, both playing important roles in the back six.
Sydney Swans Executive General Manager – Football, Leon Cameron, is pleased to have Edwards and Snell continue their footy career in the red and white.
“Patrick and Will are both valuable members of our playing squad, who have both played some quality VFL footy as emerging key defenders,” said Cameron.
“They have shown dedication on and off the field, and their hard work to push for selection at the top level has given us a lot to be excited about.
“We are looking forward to working with both Patrick and Will as they continue their careers.”
