Fremantle head to the SCG sitting in 5th place on the ladder, and in fine form, as they prepare to take on the Sydney Swans on Saturday afternoon.
It’s been an inconsistent season for the Dockers, but the Parth side have won two of their past three matches to be sitting just outside the top four.
Last weekend they accounted for the Gold Coast Suns by 20 points in front of their home crowd with their midfielders racking up large numbers.
Andrew Brayshaw collected 32 disposals and kicked a goal while Caleb Serong (29 disposals) and Hayden Young (24 disposals) dominated in the middle.
This weekend, however, the Dockers will be without their captain Alex Pearce with a broken arm, with young defender Josh Draper returning to the side to fill the void down back.
The last time the Dockers met the Swans, it was the Sydneysiders who proved too strong pulling away to win by 48 points in Perth.
On that occasion Will Hayward booted four goals for the Swans and Isaac Heeney collected 28 disposals while Caleb Serong had a game high 34 touches for the home side.
Ahead of Saturday afternoon’s clash Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said he’s excited to see what his team can produce against the ladder leaders.
"I haven’t really talked about being the underdogs. I think that sells the message that we’re inferior," Longmuir said.
"We’re going over there with belief. Its going to have to be one of our more connected games of the year.
"When we play our best footy, we do it as an 18, or a 22, and we're going to need that this week, we're not reliant on one person.”
